he lies. he fell asleep watching AVP.
we're making your burgers tomorrow night or monday and plan to drink far too much beer (recommendation?) and watch trashy movies.
I still have not made it to the comic store due to a series of obstacles that are nearly too absurd to relay, but it's on my list.
the cd fucking rules.
thanks!

Well I am finally back and now I am sick. This blows.

The weekend was a wasted blur. We recorded 8 or 9 tapes so we have to sort through that stuff. I did cut my hand open shredding to hard and it got blood all over my guitar. That was a great.

The Arcade fire show was really great. Very theatrical which I like.
whirlyknives:
i caught arcade fire two nights ago. it was really great: theatrical, grand, operatic, the works. i missed the opener, and the place was so packed that i could hardly get down to the floor. best show i've seen in awhile, as far as that goes.

the mix cd is awesome. i can't figure out some of the order though, because the files don't open directly into itunes, i had to download them in, and once that was done, they didn't stay cohesive. os mutantes is great, as is so so many white tigers. the ten-minute psychadelic jam that sounds a little like james brown is awesome, and i had the eno track and a few others. too good.

and yea, i got the blonde redhead interview at the last minute. we were all set to go with this local band, chef menteur, for the cover, when BR's agent finally called us back and told us she could get the interview yesterday. so i did it yesterday morning, just real quick. Kazu was nice and all, but is fairly reserved as far as elaboration, and i'm sure she was just fucking tired of doing interviews, so it isn't the best thing ever. but whatever. and yes, it's a free publication. i don't get paid, and my friend leo doesn't make any money out of it (it's his mag). i think this month is the first time he's going to break a little more than even (he's making 20 bucks on the issue), so he told us he's taking everyone out for poboys.

Well I got my shipment of music! I am ready for my badass trip to Austin with my roomies Seancy and Jamz. We are driving down to see the Arcade Fire. We will see if the hype is worthy. We will spend the night there with my friend Bunns and eat some breakfast and head out to the country to stay with Seancy's roommate from...

here's the link for the website of the magazine:

anti-gravity

it's still getting it together, but we're getting some better writers, and my friend noah and i are starting to edit and help design, plus leo, the 'owner / creative-mid' behind the magazine is extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. he just got a full-time as salesman, which is a positive step.

what did you think of arcade fire?
we saw them last night but i hear there were extra people on stage for (at least) our show.

My Dad had a small stroke. He is okay except for some numbness in his mouth and hand. I have been scared shitless for about two days now. I have never been this effected by anything in my whole life.

From the Sonic Arts Network book/CD compilation "The Agents of Impurity" (curated by WFMU's Kenny G), comes the monologue of an artist whom you should thank the stars above walks the Earth with you. Very funny.

"THE MAN WITHIN (EDIT)" by Sean Landers

from WFMU the best radio station in the world

"I am NOT a lunatic..."

"PREAMBLE" by Elizabeth Clare Prophet

This is so amazing.

From the infamous "Sounds of the American Doomsday Cult" series; Prophet and her Church of the Universal Triumphant flocked holed up in the '80s in rural Montana waiting for Russian missiles to hit, and cultural signifiers of the day, of course, were reason enough to expect it. Most of the amazing recordings from the meetings were...

I added some pics. I have come to the conclusion that every picture I have of myself I am drunk. Not just normal drunk I am talkin 'is this guy metally handicapped?' drunk. For example the pics from me in Austin with Joe and Bunns are freakin wasted pics. Those are just the tip of the iceberg. GEEZ.

That set from Noelle today is so...

i went certifiably insane for a day and made your mix a 3-part epic about a space mission that goes horribly wrong, and mankind is forged anew via country music. it fucking rocks. cds are just too easy to burn, you know?

I took the train to a Mavericks basketball game tonight. It was pouring rain. I got so freaking wet. I am going to rethink my stance on umbrellas.

I bought Sonic Youths "Bad Moon Rising". Boy is it good.

I had to break off a friendship with a girl this past weekend. I wanted more but she didn't. So that led to all kinds of problems. This has been a long time coming. But it really sucks because she was my best friend too. Emotional Mashed Potatoes. I wish life was easier on the heart sometimes. This is sucky to write about so I...
