I have had so many "ups and downs" these past two weeks. The hard drive in my Thinkpad failed - so I had to wait for a new one to arrive and then rebuild my entire life on the machine. I never realized how much I use my laptop! So, the good news for this situation is that I have a new appreciation for my life on the laptop.
While rebuilding/reloading, my backup drive takes a shit on me! I can't believe the luck I've had! So, I have a new 80gb Notebook drive on the way.
I figured that since I was already shopping for new toys, I'd buy something fun and new. So, I bought a new digital camera too. A Canon S500. If you haven't seen/used one of these, you should. They're amazing! The entire camera is the size of a pack of Marlboro "Reds" Box. It's also 5 megapixels which, for me, is just fine. I have a Sony MVC-CD400 also and I was finding that it just wasn't practical for my needs. Example: you can't just grab it, one-handed, and take a shot while cruzing down the highway on the Harley. With the new camera, no problem.
For a Birthday/Christmas gift to myself, I bought an Iriver PMP-140 Personal Media Player. Picture this: 40gb 3.5" Full-on color LCD screen, plays mp3's, DIVX Video and jpg pics! It's about the same size as a portable cd-player, but I can watch Porn On Demand with it! Ha! Since my Ipod was damaged in the car accident, this was the next step in the evolution.
I had the Harley out a night or two just before Christmas. It's too damned cold here to ride! I long for sunny, warm days that I can just go ride for a while - without worrying about losing a limb due to frostbite.
I missed Cosyne's last Trivia Night (#4 I think) and I am still pissed at myself for it.
Sadly, I was working that night - doing 3 people's jobs, but getting paid for 1/2 of one.. Anyway, I promise to make it to the next one.
