Today I saw my first love.
It was one of the most painful things I've ever felt.
And this is it, in words, as best as I can do.



In Passing


The reflection of hope set in her eyes
Left me yearning for years past
Tugging at dormant feelings
Her seductive gaze set upon me

And with that remembrance
Followed a gasping void
A fragment of a bittersweet emotion
Failure at its finest

That very look had yet to change
Throughout the years itd been lost to me
Awoken to the crushing sound of silence
Emanating from the cold, destitute satin in which I lay

Yet a strange feeling tore through me
As heavy as a wave crashing upon the shore
A question left in the balance of the night
What went wrong?

Matters not
Betrayal is cold regardless
Swore to myself it was true
And I gazed past emerald eyes

The tears, not on my face
Surely trickled throughout my chest
Never had I known such a loss
But love can truly be eternal

Solace I will recover
When I am able
Shaking the bonds that had since tied me
Loving her, loving her gone
