I read that TiVO has started to charge customers $150 if they cancel their subscription within a year. They also have shit-holed Macintosh customers by leading those customers on. They also have mysteriously started to accidentally release DRMed television show that have a broadcast flag on them, even though recording television shows for private use is completely within a customers rights.
I also read that the price scheme for iTunes is going to changes, or at least be altered, by assholes in the recording industry. Also, theyve decided to load DRM on CDs so that you cant load them onto your iPod (or other Mp3 player) without jumping through a bunch of hoops.
In addition to this, I also read that FBI will target this wonderful website because they show pictures of people peeing. They also show simulated gory pictures of people tearing out their heart. All simulated (except for the peeing), but people who sit in offices looking at pornography while pulling down cushy paychecks at the FBI like finding people to martyr, not exploring their 1st Amendment rights. Keep in mind, its not my ass on the line, and Im glad that no one elses ass is on the line either, but it still upsets me.
On cable, The Blues Brothers is on. The TV Guide channel only gave it two stars.
Im glad that there are people that make software to run digital video recorders on their own without a company. Im also glad there will always be people out there to create software to circumvent those controls, even though securing consumers rights in this regard is illegal.
Im also glad that Steve Jobs calls the studio execs greedy, even though it is a pot-calling-kettle-black situation.
