I just rewatched the Matrix trilogy and I must say that it is far better upon rewatching then it was the first time I saw Reloaded and Revolutions. The first Matrix is one of the greatest movies of all time, don't get me wrong on that. It is more the negative attitude directed towards the second and third movies. They are awesome in retrospect. When I first watched them in theatres, I didn't like them, much like most people. Now days though Revolution is my favourite of the three movies. It has an ending that not only makes sense, but kills off the hero, which is strongly in line with old dramas (greek and roman tragedies). What I am saying is that it makes complete sense. It kills off all of the main characters to produce a resolution that leaves both man and machine reliant on each other. Why is this great? Well for starters it explains or current reliance on something that in the future could kill us. On the other hand, it leaves us accepting that we are neither inferior or superior to machines. Instead with Neos death we are only accepting of the limitations placed upon us. We can only do what we can do and for everything else there is a machine. These movies are awesome. Watch them again, just not expecting miracles.
