I had to attend training yesterday for being a shop steward. It was all about how management and stewards need to work together instead of fighting each other. The key point was that instead of disciplining workers, they should be working on correcting the actions of the workers. I understood the training. About three hours late I found out that a worker is headed for a discipline hearing for something that could easily be handled without the hearing. On top of that, the person arranging for the discipline hearing is one of the managers that was in the training session. Now I'm starting to wonder if she even paid attention during the training. Should this thing proceed to discipline, I'm going to be bringing a complaint against the manager because she didn't pay attention during the training which means that she essentially has committed time theft herself. Fuck it. At least I have a date tonight.
