Wow, what the hell is up with this crazy life... huh?
My on again/off again relationship is now off, and unless gods intervene, will remain off.
We split this past Saturday, the day before our one year anniversary (isn't that heartwarming...? 
). Then I get a call Monday morning that she is in the hospital, super sick with a kidney infection. 
So, I raced down to see her, and she was in really rough shape. It's serious enough that she will be there for the better part of the week. I went again yesterday, and she was even worse, she hadn't slept the night before because of the pain and noisy roomates. I had to talk to the nurses and get them to change up her pain medication, what they were giving her was not cutting it, and she wasn't saying anything (she HATES asking for help). Anyhow, she started looking better right away. She slept well last night, and is feeling much better today. I am not going in to see her anymore, I just needed to know she was on the mend. Her best friend is visiting her, and will let me know how she is.
So, with all this shit and the experience in Africa weighing heavily right now, I've decided to look after myself for a bit and take off to spend time with family and friends back in Ontario. I'm pretty low right now and they are just what I need at this time. I will be back by the second week in August but will still check in with you all while I'm there (my mom's an SG supporter, so I can log on at her place
).
I may see the local SGVic crew this Saturday, I'll try to get my flight for after Saturday, fingers crossed!

I was in RJH all last week myself with a skin infection . Just about lost my finger if not my hand.
Hopefully we can meet up when you get back from Ontario.
