I am sick to death of hearing people argue back and forth about minute details of this New Orleans disaster. Whose fault it was, how it's only the poor that are affected, and now on the Boards people are arguing about fucking pets in that mess! Shut. The. Fuck. Up.
Everybody dropped the ball here. The city and state first, and then the feds after. It's a huge clusterfuck, it's scary, and the bodycount is getting bigger and bigger every second. The last thing that will get stuff done is the fucking arguing and nitpicking that's going on. And as a special aside, fuck the pets. Manpower is needed to rescue the people there, a dog shouldn't be given a second thought. I try to be as sensitive as the next guy to animals, and it sucks that it's gotten down to shooting strays in the street, but desperate times and all that...

To an extent I think you're right, as much as I like to discuss intricate politics there is a larger issue here- and that is the catastophic loss of human life.
