I rescued a little field mouse today.
I was walking to the bathroom at school today (due to the 3 diet Cokes I had to keep me awake through Spanish) and I saw something moving by the soda machine. It was a little baby field mouse, with a broken leg and he was all wrapped up in crap...like hair and lint and twigs and grass.
Me bending over in the middle of the hallway gathered a little crowd, and they were telling me to put him back into the grass. I was like "No way! He's all disabled and a bird will eat him." So I asked this chick for a piece of paper and put him in it. We had a good convo about being vegetarian and helping animals. Got a cardboard box from the bookstore. When I got back to class, everyone was like, "What's in the box?" and wanting to pet him. I told them to fuck off.
I took him to 3 animal hospitals, but they didn't treat mice. I had to call all these wildlife rehab places and either they didn't treat mice or their line was busy. I got fed up and went to PetSmart and got him a little cage and some cotton bedding.
I'm feeding him baby food right now (he likes squash a lot-little piggy). I hope he gets better soon- I have to hide him from my parents cause they hate mice. My dog Bebe is so fascinated with him...she just stares and sniffs at him.
I think she loves him. Right now she is sitting by my closed bedroom door crying and whining to see him. Brat.
Oh, and I named him Lucky.

I think I'm allergic to Lucky. I've been sneezing all night, I have a headache, my nose is running and my eyes are red and puffy. I need to find someone to take care of him.

so, i posted on the group board. i would prefer to stay local due to the possibility of having to meet some people later in the night. give Lucky some squash for me and take some allergy medication.
