Going to NYC for my birthday...

I'm headed to New York City on Thursday, September 4th to give a speech at the ACE Film Festival. The event takes place at the New World Stages on 340 West 50th Street in New York. I'll talk for 30 minutes and then there's some kind of party event. (Trust me, the speech won't be boring - here's what it says in the program guide: Chris Gore will talk about the death of indies, his personal observations about the business and going to the bathroom on film.)

All this coincides with my birthday which is actually on the 5th. Which is great since it's on a Friday and I haven't had a celebration on a weekend in awhile. I return on Friday afternoon and am still looking for something to do... but, I don't seem to have much luck with birthdays. Though last year was surprising and a lot of fun, I'm not really too jazzed about this one. So, any ideas, I'm open.
