Mr. Gore-tastic
Even those who don't know me well, know that I'm a major movie geek and a geek of many shades that include comics, video games, etc... So, when Fox invited me to a preview screening of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer at 10 AM on a Wednesday, I decided to pass. Nothing is worse than a morning screening especially with a bunch of critics. Critics who, for the most part, aren't fans.
So, I bought a ticket to the 12:01 AM show of FF2 at the Arclight in Hollywood to see the movie with fans. Which is a much better way to experience a film like this. The trailers look fun, but the first film was a disappointment and from the early word, this is sizing up to be the same. Even if FF2 completely blows, the experience of seeing it with fans at a screening like this is always a blast.
If you're there too, I'll be hanging at the bar around 10 PM. And I'll be writing about it in my Footage Fetishes column on Friday where I'll tell you more.
Oh, and feel free to mock this photo from years ago when I went to a Halloween party as Mr. Fantastic. I'm pictured here with my buddy Ron Zwang. We're nerds.
Gore gone.
