Christopher Nolan's follow up to 2005's Batman Begins is The Dark Knight which will be released in summer 2008. The film features a recast Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes (originally played by Katie Holmes), Aaron Eckhart as District Attorney Harvey Dent and, the one we've all been waiting for, Heath Ledger as the Joker.
This web site was apparently hacked by the Joker and reveals the first look at director Nolan's haunting vision for Batman's green-haired nemesis.
Behold...
Nolan has been quoted as saying that his vision for the Joker was like to be Alex from A Clockwork Orange, which would make him something of a homicidal maniac.
Anyway, I think this looks dandy. I hope they push for an R-rating and make the film very dark. Okay, I want everyone to see this, so I'll post as a news piece too.
