The X button on the PS3 does indeed also work for hitting cowbell/tambourine
Since the PS3 controller does not have a removable battery pack like the 360 the mod that you did doesn't work. Something similar could definitely be set up, just may be trickier.
As Heidi said, the shirt was pretty cool.
Btw, did you see the guy that added frisbees for cymbols to his kit? Yeah I'm pretty sure THAT voids the warranty. hehe.
