Fuck the TSA. mad

I've never been so charged up about something in my life.

This past general election woke up a sense of responsibility inside me. As responsibility as a human being, a member of society and most of all, a citizen of the United States of America. Yes, our country is a bit fucked up. It was that way to begin with. But sitting around postulating what should be and how it could be, isn't going to do a damn bit of good.

I voted. I won some and I lost some. That's how it goes. The pathetic excuse that our country has been "bought and sold" and that our votes don't count, sickens me. It seems as if the intelligent people think they're too smart to vote, but the dumb ones think they're not dumb enough not to. Then we all wonder why the country is in a bad state of corporate greed and disrepair.

To the topic at hand: the TSA.

In a disgusting attempt to make out airports more "secure", new imaging scanners have been introduced. In case you're not familiar with what they're capable of, here's an example: Image 1.

I hate having my picture taken with a regular camera, but the thought of some stranger looking at semi-nude photos of myself is revolting. Body image issues aside, this is intrusive, degrading and most importantly, unnecessary. The "opt-out" of being subject to a more extreme pat-down is no better.

It's a real shame our country has fallen so low as to find this behavior acceptable. The technology is fascinating, but the application is unacceptable.

Luckily there are a few places to visit for more information: here, here and here.

Most recently, Reddit has started a campaign to get the message out; with any luck, it'll be as big as the Colbert Rally.
