Did anyone watch the Burbs last night?
I used to love that movie when I was litlle tacker, but some of the shine was gone. Nothing like rose coloured glasses to ruin a movie.

I've reached this stage in my life now where I'm already becoming very nostalgic. It's strange because nostalgia is a new feeling for someone who's just finished being a kid. Does this mean that I'll get nostalgic about my nostalgia.

I know it's a freudian can of worms but, what kind of childhood did you have?
Mine was semi rural, we were always in the bush making cubby's, killing things, building rafts, setting things on fire, swimming in creeks etc. We would be out of the house from dawn till dusk. It was the best, I wouldn't change a thing.

I don't know that a lot of kids have that oppurtunity anymore. It seems, looking at my nieces and nephews, that parents are a little over protective, and that kids aren't learning from there own mistakes.

My oldest nephews and I (still best friends to this day, still see them every day) were always the scabby kneed, cuts and bruises kids, with home haircuts and crooked fringes.

I remember running thriough the bush one day before school and I stood on a broken monbulk jam jar, and the glass went all the way through my foot. It illicited very little reaction from my parents, and I still had to go to school that day. Fucking crazy.

I went to Ascot State School. It was where all the richies went, I used to get ragged out because I only had lynx shoes for sports day instead of nike or reebok, and my school shoes were those ones with bear paws on the bottom. I fuckin' loved those shoes! Pretending to be a bear is rad.

Anyway, I'm gonna head back to my rocking chair and think about my long illustrious life in 80's suburbia, have a cup of tea and bicky.

See you soon you young whipper snappers.

Peace, Chop.

What's your worst injury....?
