I used to be and feel a lot like that, one day I realized that no small part of it was simply I am a malcontent and reactionary; I simply had to take the opposite side of stuff just to maintain my 'outsider' self image and it made me less then popular. The funny thing was all of my bullshit was predicated on the belief that I was like that because I was soooo independent thinking and refused to let the masses influence my whims. The joke was on me, later in life it occurs to me that always picking the opposite of the pack I was just as much letting them run my thoughts as if I had been blindly following the rest of the sheeple.

Just because masses of idiots feel one way it does not mean they are wrong.

anyone that ever made a change in the world, invented something, created something, or was great did not have this difference to simply be an outsider malcontent or reactionary (although those things may have played in) the difference was they kept thier own opinions and explained why they were beter then the current paradigm despite the supposed correctness of religion, government, ect

just because everyone thinks the world is flat does not make it so.
