I went to the studio today to work on my voic...uh...scream.
I booked a single room but things were kinda packed there so i ended up getting a nice and spacious room instead, and all for the same price 8$ an hour.
They had congos!
I went to town. That is the one reason i would honestly consider moving to jersey, houses are inexpensive. I can't own congos or any other kind of percussion instrument in a f*&king tenament building! 
After beating on them for a good 20 minutes and feeling the primitive afro-cuban vibe flowing through my body i realized my hands were pretty raw and swollen...well, on to guitar.
I cranked into a marshall cabinet and went through some tunes yelling/singing along. did some Blitz, misfits, eskorbuto, replacements and sheer terror. And of course me own diddies.
I figure i 'll go a few more times and then off to record the vocals. And that will bring me a step closer to having six songs fully recorded.
Those adages don't seem so trite when you're faced with them:
