Not a good day. Got into work three hours early, spent the whole day suffering from 4 hours of sleep and not being in the mood to deal with customer service people/sales people/anyone normally I would just brush off the idiots and hang up on them, today I was just really prickly.
Example conversation

me: Where is (the street directory we use) is showing a 24 and 24a

him: well that's wrong the customer says there's only a 24a and 24b

me: well I can't prove it

him: well can you just add it?

Me: no.

him: well it's wrong (despite the fact that customers have claimed they lived in different states, obviously the customer is always right), can we just change 24 to 24a and add 24b?

me: (after googling the address) I've found evidence of a 24

him: that's not possible.

me: do you have the customer on the line?

him: no, I was going to call them back

me: so after I add it?

him: yes, could you just add it (this goes on for 7 1/2 minutes)

me: so what you want me to do is add the address and then have you go back and confirm that it actually exists with the customer

him: yes.

me: No I can't do that.


Normally I don't let this get to me, I just dead-pan them then hang up, but its been a long day, I had to yell at a customer, because he was yelling at me (I don't normally deal with customers, I suspect he will complain, he can go fuck himself).

+ I'm going to get home too late to make my lunch, meaning I'm going to spend more money on food I can't afford.
