Good things from last night

an eggplant puree dish that Deb ordered

my chicken with pomengrate and walnut sauce (served with actual saffron rice)

Great/Godly things from last night
Rosewater, Saffron and pistacchio icecream (everyone on the table agreed, even those who didn't like dairy foods) that it was something special, one of the best things I've eaten all year. Really, fucking fantastic, the rosewater made it beautifully sweet, the saffron gave the flavour length and cutted into the sweetness a bit (the creaminess really helped too), in addition it added a hint of kind of caramelly warmth on the end of it, and pistachios gave it texture, and a slight savoury to cut through the rose flavour. GWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAHHH, I want more, more, more.

Bad things from last night

The strip club.
I tried, I really, really tried to get into the whole thing, or at least accept it for what it was. I'm a burlesque boy, rather than a strip joint boy. It felt sleazy, depressing, pathetic, laughable, but most of all it just felt surreal. It got to the point I was so bored I contemplated paying for a dance, then very quickly remembered why I didn't really want one. The only people who wanted to be there were Owen, one of Ben's (the groom's friend) and the best man, the rest of us, just kind of trundled around looking bored, and kind of disdainful. Its nothing against the girls, they're just doing a job, but as expected the clientele made me want to rip a hole in the world and steam my eyeballs by poking them with hot skewers.

I'm a very tactile and curious kind of person, but I don't know, there something disturbing about watching a guy whose eyes never leave a girl's crotch even if she's talking, or not matter what the rest of her body is doing. Or watching guys following strippers around desperately (with both eyes and feet). It made me feel physically ill.

I don't know, I can imagine if you went with a couple of girls, or a more relaxed group it might be vaguely amusing, but so much of what I saw put me off. By the end of the night, I had seen more G-strings and boobs than a night at Deviate...actually make that about the same, but it just felt more fake, the girls looked bored, and well bored, the majority of guys looked pathetic, and made you feel extra pathetic for just been there, and I felt bad that I wasn't slipping anyone any money, because it felt fake. It did pretty much nothing for me.
*Narb*

I can now at least for me there is a HUGE difference between a strip club and a burlesque performance, and its not the amount of flesh that's shown, nor is it the wolf-whistling and cheering (though you'll find more girls doing that at a burlesque, a lot of the guys get kind of scared tongue), it is however pretty much everything else.
frown Give me burlesque cuz its funny, its sexy and it's smart(and it can be so much more than that) biggrin

bridehead:
Yeah...I'm pretty sure I want to marry James Nesbitt, no matter if he's already married. Maybe if he had a yummy brother or similarly delicious cousin or something. And yes I said marry haha.
I'd like to get married once in my life I think. And why not marry someone who has an accent from Heaven?

I'm curious about your Jarvis fantasy (haha). I wonder if it;s the same as mine???
