Went up to Kinglake on Sunday to celebrate Buddha's Birthday with Charles and LIz (his ex). I was mistaken for Charle's boyfriend for a second time (funny cuz we're both basically hetro), and then later on for a brother. I don't see it. Other than the fact we're both asian, have long hair, deep voices and entered wearing trench coats (its cold up there).

Anyway finally got to meet the korean zen nun who remembers meeting me (I don't remember meeitng her), and spent the afternoon making laterns for the latern ceremony. Meditated for the first time in a long time in a more peaceful rather than chaotic way, and drank a lot of good green tea. Korean Zen is something I've wanted to learn more about since I encountered it at the Buddhist symposium last year. I'm not buddhist anymore, nor do I think I ever could be, but there are things I could learn, and I found one of the most important things that I could not tolerate about theravada buddhism is not viewed the same way in Korean Zen. I could not tolerate the acceptance of the suffering of others. If I can do something to ease someone's suffering and I want to, I don't feel as though this is wrong, yes it is involvement in this world, but we all are in this world, and whilst this may either be all/nothing/something it doesn't matter to me. I have a choice and I want to have that choice rather than desire not to have that choice. Anyway no longer buddhist at this point in time so this is me merely learning practices and beliefs for my own path.

7 things to do before I die
1. Go to Japan for the first time and back to Europe again. Explore and immerse myself in the art, the culture and the society, and eventually come back to the country that is my home.
2. be able to get rid of the theatre company because it has become in its own right an entity that will run without me.
3. get back into a decent state of fitness and go do all those things that I'm scared of doing right now because
of my lack thereof. (circus training in particular)
4. find a teacher (s) in relation to my spirituality, probably have to travel to Mezzo and South America (oh the agony)
5. Go to that particularly special beach along the great ocean road and have something to say, but not need to say it.
6. trust someone
7.be satisfied.

hint, hint, it'll take less time to read that, than the rest of the entry,

kimberleyfantasy, radiobirdman and mattscope , do it as a birthday gift so Blacklamb's list post-tagging benevolent dictatorship may extend its reach a little further.

hope:
I think it's great that you're finding your own sort of belief path/system. Even though I agree with buddism a lot, I still view it as a type of organized religion, and there are some people that seem like they're only doing it because it's "the thing to believe in", (not all, but there are some out there like that). But good for you, I respect you for it.

thanks for commenting on my set, kiddo kiss kiss
