You try getting at your genitalia through 2 layers of neoprene and 80 lbs of gear. Ain't gonna happen.
He was giving the "we're ok" signal.
Thankfully for me and the dive shop, I didn't actually have to go pee. You have no idea how many people pee in wetsuits. It's actually pretty much the norm.
Beyond Good and Evil
And everyone I know who's ever been diving (including me) has peed in a wetsuit at one time or another. The water exchange may be slow but it happens and by the time your done your dive, it's usually gone.
Just don't ever make the mistake of peeing in a drysuit..
