Last night, which was the 19th of January 2008, I saw Circle Jerks perform at the Commodore Ballroom. The opening bands were Aging Youth Gang and Bison, who are both local favorites. I guess Bison were asked to play at the last minute because the band that was touring with the Jerks had some issue with transportation or something. Anyways, Bison ruled as usual. I slammed in the pit for a little while but I had to bail when the mushrooms started kicking in. The Circle Jerks followed after what seemed like a long wait although I didn't mind because the shrooms made all the boring bar shit really neet. There were lots of narly women there. Somehow girls flock to me whenever I do mushrooms. I think its because they put me in such a good mood. The Jerks were awesome. I'd never seen Keith Morris in real life before. God has he got some ugly hair. I think his dreads must be 25 years long and the complementary baldness just makes him look like a troll or something. He kicked the shit out of the music, as did the rest of the band, and that drummer is so fucking intense. The show was followed by three encores consisting of Black Flag and old Jerks songs and then finally Nervous Breakdown. It was fucking awesome.
