12 Days, 7000kms & 4 Tallica shows(3 BDOs) later and I'm finally back here in bright clear skyed Perth. These 2 songs best fit my mood of trip and now - Metallica - Nothing Else Matters & Dandy Worhols - You Were the Last High, both at BDO!
Where to begin, might as well at the start huh.
Trip over to Melbourne was fairly easy going but yet still enough to leave you tired after it. Only a few problems. 1st day travelling blew a tyre, kinda sucked but not the worst that could happen. Chucked on a spare, made it to Southern Cross and managed to buy a new replacemant. 3rd day car just stopped working outside of Ceduna. Called up RAA, came out couldn't work out problem, so got roped back to town, where found out a hose had come loose which stopped the car from working, all it needed was a hose clamp to fix, so pretty easy. 4 Days made it to Melbourne. Fairly little sight seeing along the way. Only drove off track to see head of the GA Bight, which was pretty beautiful. Also drove up Adelaide mountains and got a bit lost as didn't want to stay in Adelaide as it's a real shitty city which breeds the fear!(sorry any Adelaide people, but get the fuck outta there
)
Melbourne is a excellent city but very busy compared to what I'm used to. Weather is alot cooler and cloudier too, and you call that summer, heh. But liked it alot and had a great time, so could consider moving over there in future. But would have to test the soil a few times before planting any seeds. Maybe go back soonish. Will if Opeth don't come back here in March/April.
Went to SG Melb chapter hookup that sat night after getting in city 2 hrs earlier. Really didn't feel well but had to go because the opportunity was there. But had a pretty fuckin cool time, met some great people too!
Sunday had a kinda quiet recovery day, watched some tennis.
Monday, a day of days, yep. Got at BDO early checked out alot of cool bands Darkness, Datsuns, Lost Prophits, Butterfly Effect, Poison the Well and of course the reason why I was there, MetallicA! Got to meet the almighty fuckers too which was and still is a very
experience.
Some pics, yes - some decent shots from trip:

Tallica Perth BDO #3
Wednesday went to seperate MetallicA show at Myer Music Bowl. Was worth going. But I paid a shitload for the tix on ebay and got kinda ripped off. I didn't the whole setup with seating down front then all the masses standing up on the hill. But good show regardless.
Next stop was Adelaide, although I didn't really want go back to this city it was worth while as I had a pretty good time at this BDO, alot less crowded than Melbourne that's for sure. Got a decent spot for Tallica set, so good. But still missed out checking out Mars Volta & Poison the Well at this show.
After Adelaide went back to motel got like 3 hours sleep then left at 3 Perth time and did a 17 hr drive till 8 at night covering 2000 km to Norseman in WA, fucking madass drive!
Left Norseman at about 5:30 in morning and made it to Perth at midday,plenty time for BDO there. Also quickly checked out mens tennis final on way through, pity Saffin lost after all his hard work.
Perth BDO was pretty damn fun even though very tired. As it last one of mine and tour got into it alot. Checked out Butterfly Effect 3rd time on tour again, saw locals Karnivool put on good show. Got inside D barrier nice & early for Tallica set. Definitely worth it. Stopped letting people in there when Strokes started playing or even before. And Perth crowd was fairly drunk and rowdy so there was a massive crush against barrier for Metallica, worst I'd seen on tour. Very nuts. Enjoyed this show most, got a good position & crowd was very loud and into it, excellent!! Great way to end great trip.
Pull your head outta your ass, tear it off and start slammin it against that goddamn wall!
