I had a very family orientated Easter weekend which, for once, wasn't too stressful. My grandad came down for lunch and although it's always good to see him it can be difficult to interact with him sometimes. He doesn't have any hobbies or much interest in sport, the only time he really chirps up is to talk about the war. He didn't really start talking about the war until I was 9 or 10 but once the flood gates opened...

This time though after mentioning the area in London I'm working in and where I and some friends live I found out that these were the areas he lived and worked growing up. It seems so strange that so many of the places I'm now beginning to know were apart of his personal history too. I know London isn't that big and this coincidence isn't so amazing but I guess what is novel for me is having something in common with my grandad. Oh, and it turns out my dad was treated in the children's hospital opposite my flat, before it was converted into appartments!

So, although this post is rather brief I'm going to finish with an example of my family's slight randomness.

I grew up asking for the pope when I wanted to change the channel on the tv - why? Well it's the remote control ... initials r.c. ... Roman Catholic also has the initials r.c. who is control of the Catholic church? The pope! biggrin

Well makes me laugh anyway... tongue
