Progtoberfest 2008:
So on friday night Tez ,Cawlin ( Lockeblade ), Tee ( TeeMan ), Dan ( Sanity667 ) and I went to Progtoberfest. The night began with a few drinks during Happy Hour at 'Fat Louies' where the boys had a few games of Pool....I wasn't going to waste my time playing Pool when there was cheap beer to be consumed (that and well...I suck at Pool )
Then Tez and I demanded KFC so we walked back to the Queen Street Mall, on our way there Tez decided to attack Cawlin with a mallet and also, as usual there was Tezbum to be seen...so there is a nice blurry pic of her ass, as I was chasing her down the street with my camera...ok they are blurry coz my camera was drunk.
So after our fast food fix, I needed a ciggi and Tez needed PopRocks ...see also Dan and Tee discussing belt buckles and much to Tez's excitement and Tee's distaste - PLANTS IN SINK'S at General Pants Co. (I think Tee's distaste was at the name of the store itself and not actually the plants in sink's) and no...im not sitting down when I take these photos....Dan is a giant.
Finally...onto the gig- notice there are no pics of the bands....this is coz I'm really clever and didn't check if the battery on my camera needed charging before I went so it died before the bands actually started playing , anywhoooo so more tezbum and Cawlin doing....... well I don't acutally know what he is doing, then a nice photo of Tee, Cawlin and myself....and Dan's hand throwing the horns, um - I'm not sure what was said in the 3rd pic....but im guessing it was at my expense coz Tee nearly spat his drink out and well my face says it all.
It was a good night, I enjoyed the bands and the company (despite Tez's hate for Prog and her constant need to request love songs or tell the band to go home ...hahaha love you Tez). It got a bit hot in the venue..but never fear coz Tee was there to cool us down with his awesome hair and Windmill skills /m/. Tez went home early when she could stand the Prog no longer and then we went on to pull Cawlin out of the gig halfway through the last bands set coz it was decided we must have pancakes.
That was friday night....There was no saturday for me, I slept the whole day away so...onto sunday... woo!!! Meshuggah!!!!!!!! and once again...no photos of the band...why? because they wouldn't let me into the gig with my SLR
but I had an awesome night.... seeing Alchemist play live again was fucking amazing, its been a few years so i was amped to see them. Meshuggah were fucking epic, It has been so long since I have been to a gig where I felt like that - we were not too far from the stage and I could feel the music, this is one of my favourite sensations. I would close my eyes and see the different shades of red from behind my eyelids as the stage lights washed over me, I could feel the bass from head to toe but most strongly and most importantly in my chest, not to mention the smell of beer, pot, sweat and cheap deodorant in the air....yup, i was definitely at a Metal gig 
It was rather amusing though, Cawlin, Dan and Tee were my security team, they basically created a wall around me and stopped me from getting stomped on considering i was about knee height to most of the people there.

Monday was a good day, I didnt get too trashed at Meshuggah the night before so I was up bright and early and Tee and I hung out in the city, we had lunch down by the river, walked around the city and did some people watching, we went to the art museum and then we went and saw Step Brothers at the movies, It was awesome to finally meet Tee and I cant wait to see Grave with him and Cawlin in december. Hope you had fun in Brissy Tee, you will have to come see me in Sydney when I move
