I am SO happy for you. I adopted two chi/mixes in 2012. they thought the male; Iggy, was 2 0r 3 and the female; Edie, was 1 or 2. well i lost Iggy early in 2023 and Edie passed August 22. She’d been thru a lot over the last 2 and a half year’s. she’d torn a tendon in her right rear leg, so i had a surgical procedure done (by the doctor that had invented it!), and then had her teeth done. it was after both of these that i learned that she had a slight heart murmur, and then that it had gotten worse. i’d been giving her medication for it, but she didn’t always get all of it. (i had to crush it into a powder and mix it w/her food, so if she didn’t eat it all…anyway, something had changed and i’d made a appointment to take her in (which she just absolutely abhorred!) on a Friday at noon, but we never made it, she went in her sleep that night before. I’m still missing her terribly, and my friend’s are telling me to adopt another, (i’d probably get 2 again, so they have each other to play with, and i always would walk them first thing in the morning and a couple hours before dark. and i mean from an hour to two hours each time. I’m not sure that i’m ready yet, but will probably get there before too long, and you are an inspiration, thank you!
