Today was my SG besties birthday!! @tragicsuicide was celebrating today and wanted to go to Jerome! We took a trip up north a few hours from Phoenix to the little ghost town and shopped around for a bit. On the way up we smoked up a bit, listened to some jams of course and died over the absolutely gorgeous view surround us. Mountains and cactuses galore!! No matter how many times Iāll drive that road Iāll never get tired of seeing it. Itās just amazing as the first time, every time. One of my favorite things about Arizona! š
First stop was the haunted Grand Hotel with a little restaurant we ate lunch at. The town was first founded in 1876 and is known for its ghoulish ways and haunted stories. Few of the residents there said they themselves have seen and heard quite a few crazy things over the years and all chock it up as just being part of the town and really donāt seem to mind at all lol. The town was festive for the Halloween season which made it all the more enjoyable and it was so awesome walking around looking at all the old architecture, shops, run down homes & businesses and especially the ones that were still churnin.
Everything has mostly been untouched and itās sooo fascinating to see whatās overgrown, how buildings or the environment has altered, seeing how things now have advanced. I so so so loved seeing the layout of the houses, the old churches and the shops. The little pathways, hidden stair cases and iron fences leading to the various residences stuffed closely beside, above or below other houses and buildings almost as if to just fit anything where it could go. I couldnāt imagine living in that bustling town and sometimes things like that bother me to the core haha. How cool and just awesome would it be to thrive and wander around that little town going from the different levels and living so closely with neighbors and family. Something I probably wouldnāt want right now in this day and age lol but would have been incredible to experience.
Next on our endeavor was a few different vintage shops where I scored some amazing Fredericks of Hollywood fur lined heels. To-fucking-die for. Not to mention a super adorable 1960s crop top I canāt wait to wear and Tragic found a gorgeous ring that was perfect for her. Most mentionable is finding some brothel coins we HAD to snag.
On the way back to Phoenix we drove through Sedona to view the red rocks and stopped in the small shopping area in the center. They have some super cool shops especially since Sedona is known for having one of the crystal vortexes that exist all around the world or something Haha. Can find all kinds of stuff there from homemade ice cream to bohemian shops to of course Native American artifacts and all the good tourists stuff. Something Iāve been wanting to do is they have a few psychic shops where you can get your palm read, an aura reading, fortune told... would be very interesting! Our final stop before heading home was at a āNew Ageā shop for healing arts & crystals etc. We searched through and each found a Tarot deck of our liking and I picked up a Gypsy fortune telling book & card deck. I am super excited about both as they are each something Iām interested in and have been earning to discover more about!
It was a fun day filled with lots of smoke, smiles and probably too much money spent but the memories are priceless and thatās what matters! Was so fun exploring the town for the first time and canāt wait to go back again and investigate more, spend time taking photos and ahhh probably spend more dollars on some goodies cus I canāt help it when it comes to antique shops and such!
Just a fun little Sunday day trip for my besties birthday! Was a lot of fun and canāt wait for more trips soon šš
