Some little behind the scenes/sneak peek of my Oddities shoot! Did some group pics with some lovely ladies including some duo shots with my best girl @tragicsuicide 🥰💚 I’ll be posting a selection of the set uncensored set soon :)
This was such a fun shoot and an amazing location! (Photog:@SadTrav; Location: @odditiesbyoliver)
I model a lot in my free time, typically on the weekends but lately I have been a lot more selective on what shoots I choose to do and who I work with. I’ve always wanted to model, even just for fun/freelance, and especially Suicide Girls haha. It was a lot easier to get involved with that industry when I moved out here to Arizona! It started where I would pretty much do any shoot that would get offered by whoever wanted to work with me. I wanted the experience, content, to express myself, meet new people, and especially figured setting up shoots all day all weekend every weekend would be better than laying in bed doing absolutely nothing all day. 🤷🏻♀️
It was really fun and I loved all of the things mentioned above but as I grew and time went by I realized at times it started to feel more like a chore than expressing myself, being myself and having fun. Kinda started to defeat the purpose of why I mainly wanted to model. Everyone models for a lot of different reasons but I really just want to represent myself and express who I am through photographing it. The concepts I shoot are usually (and ideally) relatively similar to my style, my interests, the type of art I’d like to convey... soo as I accepted every appropriate offer presented to me it started to drift from that.
I don’t want to lose the passion, excitement and realness to my photos. It’s easy to tell in a photograph when someone isn’t comfortable or is out of place, the results are just better when as a model the concept is something you can feel, relate to and is natural to you. So now, I’m pretty selective on what I shoot and that’s definitely okay with me that it isn’t always as often as before. I do need to fill my time with healthier alternatives than laying in bed all day lol. But it doesn’t ONLY have to be shooting, I need to take more day trips especially with my dog!
So, overall, modeling is fun in my free time and a good way to make extra cash here and there. I love that I can express my self and respresent my personality and style through photos, but I like to be pretty strict on that. I’ve been cutting back a bit and I like the pace I’m shooting at. I’m going to start booking stuff a bit more again but I’ll be pretty choosey about the concepts and the artists.
I do have more stuff to share and I’ll be posting small sets in albums but I share more modeling content as well as selfies and other fun stuff more frequently on my Instagram if you ever wanna peek there too!
Xoxo, 🍒💣
