Don't worry kids, I'm ok. I'm back + rocking confused

Last weekend was an awesome experience. Life changing even.

It all started on Saturday. With a long car journey. I love car journeys. There's nothing more relaxing than sitting back and watching the scenery fly by. It's no secret that I hate living in Britain and that I'd sell my soul to leave here. But I don't hate the country; just the people who live here. I adore our countryside. It's amazing and unique. I get this real sense of our country being ancient when I take the time to notice. It's amazing and divine all in one breath. Just to think the very rock formations must have taken thousands of years to form. Then there's man's imprints right on top of it. Right on the very nature of this planet.

We were traveling through country roads. There's one thing I should explain before I carry on... British country roads are all narrow, windey and dark. There's no artificial lighting and again they're all as ancient as the hills which surround them. So it was dark and cold outside. Just the headlights lit the way. My body fit the curves of the seat to the point where the seat no longer existed. With my head back, I watched the hills speed past.

The road entered a forest on the side of a hill. The trees loomed over the road. They practically wrapped us up in their branches. Paul Simon was on the stereo.

As we left the forest we were surrounded by rock faces. By small cliffs of stone. A rock face to my left held up a huge sign made out of shipwreck wood. On the sign was painted 'Jesus Saves' in white emulsion. For a split second my mind opened. It possitively swooned. For that split second I almost believed the sign. I almost believed it.

Tiny Dancer by Elton John graced the speakers and I relaxed. I tried not to think about the conflict in my mind.

The journey lasted three hours. It was beautiful. The dark winter evening had us hidden from the world.

As we approached the coast the sea swelled in the darkness. The wind was cold and harsh. But I felt safe and peaceful.

Aberystwyth is a beautiful place. So welcoming and so friendly. For one evening my faith was restored in the British public. Unfortunately my faith didn't last as I realised it was just this isolated town. I realise the nice accepting people will often group and form their own safe society. I wish I could be a part of that society.

We played one of our most well accepted gigs that evening. My musical performance was one of my worst, but it didn't seem to matter. I rocked out and people loved that. They were happy (for once) to see a girl being herself and rocking out.

We made some friends and felt comfortable. We stayed for an interview with a local fanzine then braved the journey home.

Again it was peaceful. The sky wasn't dark anymore; the moon had lit the clouds. I felt serene and fell asleep. I dreamt of being myself...

I'll tell you more of last weekend tomorrow. The story's not over yet...
