day twentyeight of the Thirty Days of Vancouver, BC Autumn

the great long warmth of sodium

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a project I have had in mind for some time.

Repeated information in the spoiler:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Each new day will reward the viewer with a new photo; a new moment in the quick-changing world of autumn. It is my favourite season and an obvious choice as a beginning.

It is the start of my personal year; a true autumn baby.

Return to my journal once a day to see the new photo or follow my flickr stream (please see previous journal entries for all the photos so far). I will do my best to post at similar times each day. I meant to post much earlier today but had other things to do. I am aiming for between 12-1pm PST / 3-4pm EST / 8-9pm BST each day, depending on distractions and unforeseen circumstances.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you enjoy the once a day updates and for thirty days will be few words and mostly photos.

The photos will be a mix of many subject matters, so do not expect to only see scenic typical autumnal scenes. There will, of course, be some by that description.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the end I hope to be able to offer a limited edition handmade book of all the prints, and also a less-expensive professionally produced photobook. Research is currently being undertaken to discover the best ways to offer this to my audience. More information will follow. For now, enjoy the photo(s) as they come.

Slowly back on track.

I had some potential bad news on Friday. I find out for sure tomorrow and it's been playing on my mind ever since. I hope one day soon I get a good night's sleep.

I am known to enjoy a good game of scrabble, and played a drunken game last week with India, Paul and Matthew. Yesterday I had the closest game ever after coming from way behind only to lose to Matthew by 1 point. He is a formidable player, you should know. I blame his super competitive Mum.

Recently I discovered there's an application of Facebook that is an unofficial rip off of the game. Tonight I had a most thrilling, fast paced and tight game with Flux. It was highly satisfying and would have been even if I'd lost.

All of this is gearing up to me desperately wanting to beat Matthew's Mum in a game when we go up to the Yukon for Christmas. Without any daylight we are going to be playing a lot of scrabble, cranium and possibly boggle (although I really dislike boggle). I am a game board fiend.

Back to reality tomorrow and some work to catch up on. I haven't shot a set in around two months, and to be honest, I'm not missing it that much.

Another beautiful picture.
How do you keep getting these semi-aerial shots? Have you perfected levitation or something?

I'm the same way with board games. I guess we can be fiends together.
You do know that we have a Scrabble group, right?

It's rather sad that Lindros' retirerment was relegated to nothing more than insignificance in the big scheme of all things hockey. There were some really nice articles written here in Philly, but the rest of the hockey world probably didn't even realize that he announced he was hanging them up.

There's not much quite as sad as "what might have been", eh?
