I didn't get to go the show last night, I had to work. Lame. I hope everyone had a wonderful time and there is No Way I'm missing it next year. I'd like to go to both the Dallas and Houston shows! We'll see.
Anyway, I've been practicing facial expressions for sets. They are in my pics folder under 'Gimme some face' My camera is poor quality and I wasn't wearing make up, they are not the greatest pics ever, by far. However, i learned a lot. Namely, I can not pull of sultry. I tried! It just looks silly on me. I think I am doomed to "cute" status for the rest of forever. Oh well, I could be doomed to horse face or fat. Cute really isn't so bad in the face those horrors. I mostly tried to emulate Apnea because she is my idol and i think we have somewhat similar features, (shes just a hell of a lot prettier than me). She is amazingly talented as a model. i never realized before until I tried to pull off those poses and expressions.
Let me know what you think of the preliminary shots. I'll do more, with make up on in a better lit room, over the weekend. Which shots work? Which ones dont? Any suggestions on what would work better?
Once again, it's nearly impossible to hurt my feelings, I just want to make a flawless set that I can be proud of when I'm 80 and i look back at SG and think, "DAMN I was hot!"

I will say, though, that I'm not the biggest fan of Apnea, and that most of the time she tries to look sultry I think she just looks dim (or possibly bored). So it's not necessarily a bad thing that you can't emulate her style perfectly, and like you said, there is not a thing wrong with "cute."
