im sick i need a snuggle buddy!

this made me laugh. even though i've seen a dozen times. please watch if you haven't. unless you're devoutly religious you may be offended. for all others, enjoy:

I'm taking an anthropology class this semester and my teacher declares himself a "hippie gypsy" stuck in the 60s (i love him!). We were talking about capitalism and what not today and he told us about a man named Eugene V. Debs. He said no citizen will ever be "free" if he continues to make his body a target in the name of his leaders. What a smart man, and he got arrested for saying that. Land of the free?
The master class has always declared the wars; the subject class has always fought the battles. The master class has had all to gain and nothing to lose, while the subject class has had nothing to gain and all to lose especially their lives.
"They have always taught and trained you to believe it to be your patriotic duty to go to war and to have yourselves slaughtered at their command. But in all the history of the world you, the people, have never had a voice in declaring war, and strange as it certainly appears, no war by any nation in any age has ever been declared by the people. And here let me emphasize the fact and it cannot be repeated too often that the working class who fight all the battles, the working class who make the supreme sacrifices, the working class who freely shed their blood and furnish the corpses, have never yet had a voice in either declaring war or making peace. It is the ruling class that invariably does both. They alone declare war and they alone make peace.
Yours not to reason why; Yours but to do and die." - Eugene V. Debs' Anti-War Speech 1918

Carlin is a legend. I also wish I had a cuddle buddy. I may be permanently heartsick/broken and ravaged in other ways at that. Time and fate are cruel mistresses.

That quote is so true. *sigh*

I wonder when they will finally wake up and realize there are still classes and castes, and we are pitted unto ourselves in wars just as real as the ones that shed blood?
