Today I got to actually see a friend of mine that I haven't seen in nearly six months even though he only lives about 5 blocks from me. It was good to catch up and to see that he was doing well. He had been having a rough time mentally. He also cut his hair all off which he hasn't done ever in the 25 years I have known him so that was odd to see. He isn't one of the wife's favorites but it had been so long even she was glad to see him -ish.
My anniversary turned out pretty cool. I did the wedding which as it turns out was the one with two chicks. Since Illinois passed gay marriage we have had a couple. Technically civil unions but as my mother pointed out the other day my brothers and I all three were married by judges and should be considered civil unions according to the law. The last one was two guys and they turned out to be a lot of fun. These ladies were not as easy to deal with, I never thought about how much having two brides could suck until these guys booked. They changed their minds about everything they had two tastings because they ordered stuff and then changed their minds again. In the end it went great and they were very happy and I got to get out in time to eat dinner with the girls for my anniversary. The sales girls made the wife cards apologizing for booking a party on our anniversary. She thought that was cute. Once the girls went to sleep the alone part of the evening was awesome. I want to write about it somewhere but it encompasses about half of my groups so I don't know where best to post it. I could probably tell the story in five different places a piece at a time. It shall suffice to say at this time that a good time was had by all in a couple different rooms over the span of a couple hours and thank god the children are very sound sleepers.
