I got my pick up in the mail so this will be brief so I can check it out.
My job just got totally crazy. I am looking for another job. The board decided to eliminate my bosses position as of 4/1. Not fire and replace her, eliminate her position and retain her as "head waitress" is she wants. Her position is club manager, basically food and beverage director and sales/wedding coordinator. She does all the party planning and books everything that happens. Her job will supposedly be covered by the surly lady in the office and the space cadet bar manager along with the trustees. If they call with food questions they are to call me. That is not a job you can do by committee. People that book weddings and big function want to deal with one person. That person should be knowledgeable and personable. So what this means to me is this, the only part of the club that makes money is the food part and the only part of that that makes money is the banquet part because the restaurant is members only and nobody ever comes. With the trustees pissing people off by trying to do a job they know nothing about and them doing things like turning down a $13000 dollar wedding so that 9 geezers can come out for Valentines day they will kill the banquet business and ultimately the club. I had a meeting with them where they laid out the plan and I brought up these point and I was told "well we are all just going to have to pitch in". I was also told to watch my labor because it was high. I have one full time employee and one two day employee and I work at a place where you never know if you will have 80 or 6 people for lunch or dinner and tables come unannounced 20 tops and 15's all at the same time . Re fucking diculous. Absolutely retardulous. So if I am irritable or absent that will be why.
