I don't usually blog to days in a row but gotta say this. I took a gamble a year ago and left my seven year, good paying, sous job to go be exec at a little club north of me and everyone thought that I was crazy. Crazy for leaving my good job that i hated, crazy for working at a red neck country club in a shady little town, crazy for taking a substantial pay cut for what ended up being more work. All this was with the understanding that when I proved to them that I could turn things around up there that they would pay up but it was a hand shake kind of deal and my faith in people is minimal. Today I had a meeting with "the Bobs" and they are very happy with my $40,000 turn around on the year(the last 2 years they lost money and this year we made money) and with the food quality and menu and really everything. They seemed mostly concerned that I was happy and intending to stay. I got a 12% raise and we talked about their intentions to replace my boss with me when she retires next year so that they can give me more money. I am still not making as much as at the hotel but I am also not a miserable asshole quite so much these days. I consider it a worth while trade. So I am somewhat vindicated and the wife will be happy to have more in the budget.

Now i must get ready to go to my youngest daughters school program. She will be singing three songs with her class. These kind of things are always a blast because little kids are so unpredictable. You never know who is going to stand there and spin or jump off the stage or pee themselves and cry, it's like midget Jerry Springer with out the fights. It is always an adventure. Have fun SG.
