Happy Friday. Busy night (and, day for that matter) at work tonight. The wife is out of town for the weekend at a women retreat thing so I am home with the girls. It makes for a long day at the sitter for them and a longer day all around for me but since she never does things like this I can't complain too vigorously. She needs to get away more on her own. Motherhood comes with a dearth of alone time. Also the girls are cake to be with for me so it is not really a chore. My relationship with my kids is different the with the wife since a lot of days I leave before them and get home after they are in bed so they are shitty to her more often since she deals with them more day to day and I am more of a treat i suppose. That is not how I envisioned fatherhood so I make an effort to be with them every chance I get.

I don't want to be alarmist here but does anyone else think it is odd that in the year preceding what the ancients of our continent have deemed as the end of days, we are having a rash of every kind of natural disaster ever known? Earthquakes, tsunami, floods, tornadoes, the whole middle east is in flux, even a little radiation leak thrown in. I am not one for apocalyptic talk but maybe that calender has hit on some pattern of crazy weather that comes around every 5000 years or something. It is just a little off putting to me.

I have now officially become a geezer on here. My membership has been approved. I am still waiting for my SG cane. Off to MR.biggrin

Hello, fellow geezer. We're planning a Wintery Solstice vacation to the area right around (but up from) Taos next year... biggrin It IS WWIII, even if we're not involved in ALL of it. I'm not sure what the score is, but I'm pretty sure Nature's winning...
We're headed to the Merwin Preserve tomorrow later afternoon (4-ish) to play in the mud in preparation of Beltane. You and the girls should join us; me and mine would dig that! smile
