Man it has been a busy time here lately and things seem to be rolling along so fast. My youngest turned four last week and my oldest turns 8 next week. I haven't had much SG time here lately I will have to catch up a bit tomorrow.

I actually went out after work last night and saw a band at a bar. My buddy one tickets on the radio and the wife had a bunch of stuff to do at home so I got to go out and get down. The band in Chicago is known as Sexfist but when they come down state they call themselves the Hen House Prowlers. Pretty decent bluegrass band. A very fun show.

It was good to get out and hang with some friends. As it turns out, one of my buddies from a wilder time now runs that bar. I may go down there some Monday and check out his open mic. Several other people I knew were there and only one of them I didn't really want to see which for me is pretty good. Oh well, I'm out. Have fun.biggrin

EDIT.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I am going to add a few thoughts about Saturday. God damn I have become old and inept at socializing. Since I have been married I have had a whole different outlook on talking to people especially ladies. Single me kicked out the vibe to any chick that showed even a passing interest (dimone style) which lead to a lot of blow off conversations. Married me is not kicking the vibe to anyone cause I already got mine. That has made making friends and having normal conversation a lot more enjoyable not to mention more enlightening as I am free to let myself shine through since I want nothing but conversation anyway. That being said, I had a great night going catching up with old friends and talking shit with random people at the bar. We went out to burn one during the set break and ended up talking to this girl about The Young Ones (she brought them up) and some other shows that were staples of my youth and i was referred to, in many ways, as being from another time. I was ten years older than her, she was bitching about the twenty two year old people not knowing what she was talking about and I was thinking,"you are only twenty five, how much different is your perspective". Ten years is along time I guess, but I never consider my self out of touch with today's youth because I can still remember the stupid shit I did at that age and it is all still basically the same(just with more electronics). There were a lot of hippy kids at this show because somehow hippies love bluegrass now. I recognized a lot of them from shows I played a couple years ago, when they scared the crap out of my grandma. There was a lot of spastic dancing going on one girl essentially crunk danced the entire night in moon boots and patchwork pants, she was too cute. I used to love spastic dancing but when my buddy disappeared for a while and his date got bored and decided to try grinding on me, I froze. She was cute(she even had one of my favorite facial piercings)and dancing with her would have been fine with my boy and even my wife (had she been there) but my brain was not having it. Froze like a deer in the headlights. Eventually she gave up on my and danced with her friend. I guess that it was kind of a first date for them so they each brought someone in case things went south. My buddy knew half the bar so he kept getting pulled in to darkened corners for various purposes(as did I for that matter) and she was always looking for him. I don't know if they will date long but they went home together. I left before bar close because I was worn out and tipsy and ready to go home a get cuddled on by the wife.

Thank you! smile
And your blog- open mic can be fun and entertaining. We ran one every Mon night at a place called Shenanigans. My man pretty much dominated it all as they all loved him and wanted to hear him lol. No easy pay there. Our band would take over, or my man go solo vocals & guitar. (Yeah...drum machine at times too...)
Anyhow fun stuff.
I'm sure you socialized just fine and liquor and guns are great, however Idk about mixing the two lol.
