I finally worked a day that was less than 12 hours! Woo Hoo! I am sure my evening is all planned for me but since no one knows I am off I am just going to burn one down and check out SG. So many great blogs today, lots of pics and glad tidings. It is making me jones for a trip somewhere. Next weekend we are going down to STL for my buddies wedding. I will be doing the food. I am smoking a whole hog and doing a corn boil. I will finally be using the turkey fryer the wife bought me on our first married christmas even if it will be to boil corn. She always says that she sucks at buying me gifts because I never use them. That is not necessarily true, in the case of this turkey fryer I just haven't had an opportunity to cook a big party outside until now. Next week it will totally have been worth toting it across three states for ten years. I would say come meet me in STL but I think my time is pretty well spoken for. The wife wants to go to six flags for a roller coaster fix. If that happens I'll announce it on here and see if any STL SG want to come out and play. Everyone seems to have pics of the SG people they have met, why not give it a try?
One cool thing I saw today for the first time was Sweet potato tots. Yes that's right, tator tots made out of sweet potato. I am gonna bring them home for the girls to try. I can see them now on processed turkey loaf day in school cafeterias every where. one thing about school lunch, I remember in grade school everyone making a big deal about Reagan saying that ketchup was a vegtable as a way to cut cost in school lunch. Yesterday for lunch at Ms. Suns school was mozzerella sticks and a brownie. Does that seem like a healthy lunch to you. Granted she loves mozz stix as much as I do and was super psyched ( except that she is allergic to chocolate so her brownie was pointless) but if we have school lunch in part so that these kids are getting at least one good meal a day, should that meal be fried cheese and chocolate cake. I remember school food was not good, but at least used to try. Maybe I'm just hatin' because I wish I had gotten fried cheese for lunch when I was seven. I didn't even kniow it existed until I started going to Denny's late night in highschool. Any way, I have a Toots song in my head I must go find soooo peace out SG. Have Fun.
