Lazy day looking up old bands on you tube.
Blue Meanies Grandma Shampoo
I can't remember how many times I spent my evening watching these guys. This song was always a slammin skank pit dancin' song.
Fugazi Waiting room
The first time I saw this live I had just gotten my wisdom teeth out but we went dancin' anyway.
Seeing my old friends and talking about the crazy shit we used to do has me getting nastolgic for the loud angry music of my youth. My honkytonk persona has helped me get back into interacting with people again. Back then I was just young and naive and talked to everyone like they wanted to know me. I could no more get into a mosh pit today than I could fit in my 18 year old pants but it is fun to look back. Bluegrass is much safer.
Dave Grissman doesn't do a lot of singing anymore but he is awesome. I saw him at navy pier with the quintet and Bela Fleck as well as Andy Statman on clarinet which was a trip.
I don't have much to say I am a little burnt from partying for the last three days and we have more company coming this week end. One thing about living in the middle of the country at the intersection of five highways is that I am on the way to lots of places. Next to pass through is my brother inlaw from Ithica NY. Let there be chicken fried steak. That is always his request. Nate that was here this week is down for anything but he likes Indian Food and he can't get it much at home in Mo. so we have some of that everytime he comes. I really just want to settle in to the country some where and run a B+B or a small cabin resort with a lodge house. That is exactly my speed. I may take a nap. Have fun.
