It has been a crazy week. Thursday we tried to go see the toothfairy movie. They cancelled our showing so we had to watch the Frog princess movie. It got all screwed up and started 40 minutes late so we got free passes to go again so we will try the toothfairy again this week.
Saturday I worked fourteen hours. We served six courses to four hundred people. I took a picture on my phone of what 20 gallons of lobster bisque looks like but I can't seem to get it on the computer today. It went well. Lots of rich people kissing each others asses over a bastardized version of Coq au Vin for hudreds of dollars a plate. Fifty some people didn't show so they could go to the ISUvs Bradley game. I hope they enjoyed their popcorn and beer.
Sunday was my birthday. 34 (or 40 as my little brother keeps refering to it) doesn't seem to bad. I chilled with the girls all morning then they went to someone elses birthday party. The wife treated me to a little topless house cleaning while they were gone. When we were first married she used to do that all the time. I used to get tired of watching her clean. Now she could do it all day and the house would still be trashed. We went out with my mom for dinner at a new chinese/japanese place that replaced my favorite buffet. I miss the buffet but this new place is pretty awesome. The girls love it, my mom can eat there and it is just plain good. Twice the wife has managed to get great noodle dishes. Yesterday she got one that was braised short ribs with veg and noodles. I had pound cake for cake, its one of my favorites. I got one of those memory foam pillows from the girls. I can see how having a bed made of that would ROCK! I may have to start saving now for our next bed.
Today I am off work but staying home with a sick kid. Ear infection and f-ing pinkeye. God I hate pinkeye. Just the thought of it makes my eyes itch. It was not full on yet but they said it looked like it was starting so we got eye drops andI am washing my hands and doing laundry all day. Wednesday we are taking the band out for the first time. We are playing a bar we used to play bluegreass at all the time. It has since closed and reopened as a bright new bar. Lets see if they are ready for some honky tonk. Some how i doubt it. I haven't been there yet, but from all accounts they are aiming at the State Farm crowd. Like it or not it will be fun to play out again and at least yuppies rarely throw things at you they generally just walk out. Still no name yet, it will come. The bass player has a couple ideas we will probably use one of those for now. I should get off and enjoy nap time while it lasts. Peace.
