Oh my god. I knew it could happen... but... but I didn't think it would happen to me... I can't believe this. I... I'm all broken up inside....

I... I decided to clean my room... it was something I've been meaning to do for a long time... way too long. I... I was going to sort out my comic books and when I picked up one of the two long cardboard boxes up... I saw... termites. hundreds of them... They'd completly eaten through the top and bottom of the bottom box and were working their way into the bottom of the top box. I cried out. I seriously almost fainted. I'm lucky I have a strong heart.

Well, after an emergancy comic evacuation I was relieved to find that the plastic comic sleeves that I store my comics in are absolutely worth the 5 cents a piece I pay for them. The termites avoided my comics for the most part, there were a couple of casualties, but nothing irreplaceable, and focused mostly on the yummy cardboard boxes. I transfered my comics to sealable plastic bins for now. I'm going to have a MAJOR sorting/cleaning job on my hand when I work up the courage later on... man. I'm so releaved that there wasn't any more damage than there was. I guess the moral of the story is to always bag your comics, and to avoid storing them on the floor. Man. I need a nap.
