Some random Monday things:
1. "Impecunious" has to be the classiest way I've ever seen to say "broke."
2. The fancy site I pimped a while back, Jux2, that let you search Yahoo, Google and Jeeves, has gone under.
3. I watched Collateral, Secret Window, and American Movie over the weekend. The first and last are kinda bleak movies to me. The first was pretty good until the ending started sacrificing credibility. The second is, of course, a Stephen King with Johnny Depp in it; pretty good, but I figured the mystery fairly easily, but then it didn't seem to care much about hiding it very well from the audience (especially if you've seen enough of these kinda movies). The last was okay. I've heard people say either American Movie is really great or funny, or else they say Mark Borchardt is really dumb and sucks. I don't think he's dumb, but then I don't think he's a genius... anyway, I found his uncle kinda depressing and it's hardly a shock he dies at the end. He looks a step away from dying the whole damn time. Eh, all three were alright. Two on cable, one from the library- the price was right.
4. I'm listening to Chain Gang's Perfumed right now. I love their trashy style; I love how all over the place Ricky Luanda's singing is. It's like he's a Italian New Yorker Captain Beefheart. The band can groove like the Fall, too. I can't believe this is out of print. I can't believe I don't own Mondo Manhattan anymore and it's out of print. I know I'd appreciate a lot more now that I'm not a dumb teen who thinks Slayer is great (not that you're dumb if you like Slayer, but you know what I mean).
5. Work today was really uneventful. God, I hope that can keep up for... forever. Okay, realism here- I hope it can keep up for a few days.
6. I work Mon-Sat and want to do shit on Thurs, Fri and Sat night. Preferably get loaded each time, but -reality check- I just hope I can stay awake by the end of the week.
7. I don't really have anything else to add, and in fact ^ this all has been boring, but maybe I tricked some people into reading it anyway.
