I have berthdake prezenns for folks in Richmond... also, it'd be nice to see if pb wanted anything done for his birddays. I dunno what that would be.

I treated myself, at the same time. Got the first season of ATHF on DVD. Watched most of the first disc. AINNGAH!!! I can't say which is my favorite. "Baloonenstein" and "The Moonenites" were incredible... but I'm leaning towards "The Bus of the Undead" (which actually, surprise, has nothing to do with zombies at any point).

I got the Tenenbaums soundtrack; now I have 3 Wes soundtracks.... and they're all great. I have Mothersbaugh music from Life Aquatic stuck in my head that I haven't listened to for 3 days. And I would pay any amount of money and travel any distance to see Seu Jorge play live.

Also, I was gonna ask crazythesaintbob what this song Yo La Tengo did at the show we went to was from, cuz I didn't know if it was a 1950s cover or what, the song Georgia sings about "dreaming... dreaming"-- well, it's called "Dreaming" and it's on the extras CD of their new comp, which is a damned nice 3-CD comp.

update- I have been gradually listening to the Yo La CD over the days, in the car... just got to 1) reading the liner notes, 2) hearing more of it (still not all, though).
First of all, "Dreaming" is a Sun Ra tune. Ira describes it as "countryish".... whatever, Ira; it sounds like '50s soul to me. Secondly, the version of Fleewood Mac's "Dreams" that I put on tape for many of you? The version that was on a vinyl single put out by Mike McGonigal, an ex-SG-member, back in 1987 or so, in a Chemical Imbalance zine? It is on this CD. Hopefully, ALL of the good indie rock of the '80s will make it onto CD.
