3/20/05 update and old Important info below
I found this while sorting stuff in my files. I think I posted it before, but I can't remember who said it: Gauguin, Renoir, or maybe Van Gogh. I'm leaning toward Renoir. It sounds too casual to be Van Gogh... anyway, Joscelyne was talking about how she found it hard to write about music, and I agree with her... I used to write reviews like crazy, but even back then I was often talking about the lyrics or the videos, but part of the quote above applies. Good music is pretty indescribable, in its purest essence, its tone, production, and feeling.
Yesterday was quite funn; I went to a professional seminar, learning about search engines. It's funny how my usual work is nowhere near intellectual, cerebral, or inspiring... then I can go to something like this and go, "Oh, yeah, that's right, this job does have a rewarding side!!" I just need a new locale to practice it in... but I don't want to be arrogant/ lazy about it. I want to keep my skills enhanced, both for prospective employers and for my own brain's sake.
Okay, vocational posting over!
I hope I can pawn some stuff today, to save moving hassles and make a lil $$... particularly some 75watt Fisher speakers. I once thought the idea of towering big speakers was wickedawesome; now it just seems silly as fugk. I need something that'll fit my living space... and living around other human beings, how often can you blast out 150 watts of power without being a total dick?
Okay, I know these ^ are not earth-shattering, but I have to completely disassemble my compy tomorrow, so who knows when I'll post next?... and if I get all hungover tonight/morrow from SaintInsomniac's party, I might not feel like posting... cuz I'll be headached and barfin.
3/20/05 update, as promised! - Didn't barf, but ehh didn't get as buzzed as I'd liked. :^/ My stomach was blah from insufficient dinner, too much snacking. Regardless, I had a funn time, and met so many great locals (although... hah, they weren't from DC! Where are the DC people?) last night.
I still have so much crap to pack for moving; even if I take the "throw it all in a couple big boxes approach" to what's remaining, it'll still take a while, plus I have to disassemble this desk (it's too wide) and this computer. And it's almost noon. Know what that means? Right. Byebye for a couple days, folks! I would dick around for the next 4 hours on here if I could- not an option today.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I'm moving to a nearby locale near Alexandria on Monday 3/21/05; explained why in Sunday 3/13/05 Journal- I suppose I'll be repeating it a lot, so everyone sees it and doesn't dump me off their Friends list if I'm a bit absent for a short while, or if they wanna mail me cool things.
