I had such a great time last night!! Seeing NoControl, DCQ, Trysty, pkybear, info and Isa!!! If only it coulda been longer than (in some cases) a couple minutes.... poor T wanted to hang out with me more (awww, thank you) but there was precious little time for me to hang around after the show. The (actual time) conversation went like this:
Trysty - "What, you're leaving right now?"
me - "Well, we gotta work tomorrow, but we can stick around for a few minutes."
(5 seconds later) club loudspeakers - BAMBAMBAMBAMCLANGBANGARGGRAHGGGD!!!!
Yeah, everyone who's met me knows I'm a low-talker, and I could neither hear nor be heard by T or DCQ at that point.
But it's great to see my Richmonders, if only for a short while on a Monday night that I work the next day.
I even managed to get by the inforn/Isad apt. complex for a while before I headed out.... reeeeal, real late! It was so great to see them again, and the pets, and their towering new cage of beasts. So great... in fact the only downside being (I don't usually drive I-95 that late at night) 18-wheeler truckers will tailgate your ass in a scary way at 3 a.m.! I guess they have deadlines, but dude- don't make me dead!
Oh the show? Well, it was billed as a sex workers art show, but it was mostly spoken-word performances, some music performed, a couple great burlesque acts. Only a smattering of artwork in the club's back area (this one stripper's cartoons reminded me heavily of norritt's). They were quite good, and kinda hard to summarize concisely (I guess I need to go to work; more on that in a second... I might write about it later). I bought Nomy Lamm's zine cuz I knew of her from Bust zine.
I arrived in town pretty early, so NoControl saved me by being around when I couldn't find anyone and we went to dinner at the sports place on the corner.
Lastly, yeah work; I woke up this morning and find that there's what looks like a sandstorm outside, but it's snow!! Yeah, since it was like 70 degrees yesterday (Fahrenheit, for the Euro readers) it isn't sticking but the visibility is literally the worst I've ever seen. So I told them I'd be in a bit later... also, it helps as I'm tired as hell, but like I said- never seen snow/wind this bad here, without it sticking especially.
MUCH ♥ to the SG Richmonders

Sorry about not being around...processing things at home and in the heart & head...when all is done, I'll pump up the Climax Blues Band, fake mullet, shitty draft beer, and write a good journal response for you.
BTW: you didn't have to tell me that. I know you read my journals.
