Well, I was gonna give a link to this great story in the new New York Review of Books, but uhh it's not on their site. (I tried to set up a print-subscribers account before I left work, but it didn't work and I have no idea why, as I put in all the correct info. I suppose I'll try again tomorrow night.)

Anyway, go find it, in a store, library, whatever. I'd been wondering for ages what was going on in Sudan, and this reporter trekked all over it and what he found was pretty interesting, as confusing as it was enlightening. He found that there was not genocide per se going on in the areas of Darfur he went to, but there were war crimes (i.e. state-aided crimes) on a large scale. The most pressing international concern there, he said, is famine, as conflicts have left most of the crops in the southern Sudan unplanted. I'll be writing more about this article later/ tomorrow, since I have it copied now to take home.
Some of the good articles that are on the site are about the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, the war on terror (or "war on terror"- all will be clear if you read the article)(it will leave you with some question of if al-Queda even currently exists, or if it ever existed as Rumsfeld et al felt [or claimed] it did), and Bush's death penalty practices.

Oh, and here's something I found rummaging around this morning. I might've mentioned to a couple of you before that I wrote in to ABC in an effort to stop the cancellation of My So-Called Life back when it was on. This response postcard from ABC is postdated 2/13/95.
