I am reminded of the parable of Gonk and Geefel.
If you'll remember, on Sesame Street years ago, the Gonk and Geefel were in a forest with fruit trees, but had a hard time getting fruit. Gonk was short and blue and lived close to the ground and couldn't reach the fruit, and Geefel had long arms and was orange and could knock down the fruit but could not bend down and get it.
Also, Gonk said "Gonk" and Geefel said "Geefel," but that's immaterial.
The point is- Gonk alone could not reach the fruit, and Geefel alone could knock it down but not pick it up. So Geefel knocked it down, and Gonk picked it up. They worked together and learned cooperation.
My main point is- beer is Gonk and bourbon is Geefel. I am finding that beer gives me a short, strong burst of drunk, but bourbon gives me a long-lasting, subdued slow burn of drunk. Together, through cooperation, they make for a really good night.
