Okay... Napoleon Dynamite the dude is an A, but the movie, the script and plot and things that keep you riveted, is more like a C... and believe me, I didn't want it to be Hollywood or even plot-driven per se, but I think it still lacked a little... something in the mix. I like Pedro. I love Kip... but there's just still the sense that this is a kinda typical quirky film with some outlandish things thrown in to keep you involved.
...but Napoleon, yeah, he's an A, and he's onscreen basically the whole time, so I give it a B+.

Control Room could've been done better. Things could've been more well-arranged, more actual war footage could've been mixed in. I'm sure it could've been still more explicit in its you-are-there coverage.
...but then that's not what it's there to do. It's there to make you see Al-Jazeera for what it is, as opposed to what Rumsfeld claims it is. It's there to make you think about how the govt and press of the victor nation spin a war.
Which is why the movie is an A. It is dead clear, by movie's end, who is being straight, and who is finagling and juking the truth.
...and I could watch Samir Khader all day, with his strange mix of Kevin Spacey and that oily lawyer character that Martin Short used to play... although I certainly think he's more truthful than that, or, well.... anybody. I think he's more truthful about the war than anyone in the US government or press. I hope he gets his dream of being on Fox News someday biggrin ;I would tune in nightly.

I don't know what else to say about Control room except
GO SEE IT
GO SEE IT
GO SEE IT

oh, and I've bookmarked Al-Jazeera's website

edit PS -- Oh, and I don't know why nobody's mentioned this yet but the name "Napoleon Dynamite" comes from Elvis Costello's very good album, Blood and Chocolate ...it is in fact Elvis's nomme de rocque for that album, and you can see the name partially written on the album cover's abstract art fellow, on the right side.

Do they still make stand alone CD burners for home audio units??? My computer is a fucking Gateway 2000 travesty. I've had better experiences getting repetious nut-kicks from ill-tempered donkeys. After awhile it just kinda hurts so bad that you get really high...but the Gateway 2000 never gets me high!!! Motherfuck!!! I'm going to see the 9/11 tonight. I have two very strange videos for you. As soon as I get some burns a-floatin'...you'll get the care package.
