I'll make my Journal long by proxy today. See, The New York Review of Books is online so I can link you to three cool articles.
For the one I discussed over the weekend, about US Army abductions and torture in Iraq, go here.
I was pretty much right; while the figures on Army arrests were quoted by the Red Cross, they got them from "military intelligence." (That's as specific as the article gets, sorry.)
For a good article on media coverage of the war, go here, It's very easy for people to act like everyone's informed by the US media, and that people in Arab countries will know that when we bomb their country that it's to help them... and it's easy for reporters to report the US Marines's side of things... but what's missing from this picture? See in this article.
And, for an article with nothing to do with politics, war, or history (well, it's entertainment/ lit history), go here. It's a look at the original Pinocchio story from Italy, which is quite different from the Disney one.
ps - I'm a cold Italian pizza...
I could use a lemon-squeezer

He and Sheetal have been working on a side project, and if they get good reviews, who knows? Rolling Stone gave their last one 4 stars, so I am hoping the best for them.
I have been trying to get my brother to join SG, but all he wants to do play music and go out and enjoy San Francisco. I don't blame him. Last time I went out there, over the new year he surprised me with David Cross tickets. He was brilliant. I even got to meet him and shake his hand. Best time of my life.
