Another short post, as I'm 1) at work 2) going to see Pirates of the Carribean tonight, by hook or crook. Having these sold-out viewings n laundry-based personal-scheduling delays is making me redouble my piracy efforts.

Okay, well I have time for one quick story. In 1971, Anthony Hopkins tried out for the movie The Girl from Petrovka, and got the role. He took the train to London to scour used book stores for a copy of the novel, by George Fiefer. He found none available. Departing London, in Leicester Square train station, he saw a book next to him on the bench: The Girl from Petrovka.
The cast of the film was working in Vienna two years later, where Feifer joined them. He told Hopkins that he no longer had a copy of his own novel because a friend had misplaced his while travelling in London. Even more vexing, Feifer added, was that he'd put personal annotations in that copy. Surprised, Hopkins handed him the book. Same copy.

I give it four and a half AARRRRS! ! !

Very good film. And aarrr t'would have been five aarrrs if 1) Chris Elliot had been cabin boy of the Black Pearl, 2) at the end, Johnny Depp had sailed off with Orlando Bloom. T'wasn't ta be. . .

. . .but as a lil bonus, the film does feature one of these AARRRR, a GOLD MONKEY!!
